We had another 4 day beginning of April, but due to financial issues with my house back home, we had to cancel our plans to Rome. So we stayed home, had a BBQ at our house on Sunday the 6th, then headed to Lake Garda on Monday the 7th. I had read about these thermal baths on the travel fb page, and had been wanting to test them out. So first we headed to Sirmione at Lake Garda and I had planned for us to visit the old Roman ruins, but once we arrived, we saw they were closed on Mondays! Go figure, I can't keep track of what is closed on what days in this country. It was still a very beautiful area and I'm happy we went. It was our first trip to Lake Garda and its only about an hour away, so we can go another time soon.
Heres a short video- I didn't have much memory on my phone, so the videos kept cutting me off saying not enough space. I had to keep deleting old pictures to make more space, but the videos still kept cutting me off. Booooooo!
Thermal Baths at Lake Garda
Next, we drove about 20 mins to the other side of the lake to some thermal baths that I had read about. They are located in a big park. The whole area was beautiful and it was such a nice day. The baths were awesome- it was warm water and our toes could touch the whole time..it was just like a huge bath. There was also a grotto with showers and massaging jets. Throughout the whole "pool" there were massaging showers lined around the edges. It was a very relaxing time except I did feel a little sick the next day. I'm not sure if it was something I ate or these baths. This was taken from their website " has been certified as low in mineral content, free of chemical contamination, bacteriologically suitable, in the group of calcic-bicarbonate waters, with a significant quantity of silicon, potassium and magnesium. Thanks to these valuable chemical-physical characteristics, the Villa dei Cedri water has a beneficial detergent, soothing and anti-inflammatory action. It is held to be extremely useful in prevention and in the therapy of a significant number of pathologies or cutaneous imperfections, including eczemas, contact dermatitis, pruriginous dermatitis, dermatitis associated with circulatory conditions, cellulitis, irritations or conditions of sensitive skin in general."
In the end though I will return to these baths another time, even though I did feel a little sick the next day.
